” March 6, 2021 Re: Invitation to Legal Service Organizations to Provide Information for SB 65 (Momnibus) Dear Executive Directors of legal aid programs: Please consider this an official request that representatives from California’s Legal Services Corporations (LSC) funded programs provide, in written and\/or oral form, to my office information and input regarding SB 65, the Momnibus bill, which seeks to improve outcomes for all pregnant, birthing, and postpartum people and their babies, particularly those from vulnerable populations and people of color by increasing income support, access to health care, including doula services, codifying the maternal mortality review board, strengthening local infant mortality review boards, and expanding access to midwives. My office will share the programs’ communication with other legislative staff, committee, agencies and the executive branch as we deem appropriate.
